When visiting places that get contact with animals, a tourist guide can advice to keep their belonging safe intact in their bag (avoid exposing their belonging to animals), don’t do any action that can make the animal mad, advice on suitable time to touch the animal |
In emergency cases, for example lost of passport; accident; theft; missing tourist, and any other situations, a tourist guide may have to use their counselling abilities to tackle these issues. |
Ability to handle sensitive issues for example cultural, religious and political differences. |
Develop awareness: take a look at your own biases and prejudices, become aware of cultural norms, attitudes, and beliefs, and value diversity; |
Don’t allow cultural differences (preferences) to become the basis for criticism and judgements. Differences are neither good nor bad – it is what we do with them that makes a difference; |
