Five Foot Way
A covered walkway for public use, known as “kaki lima” or 5 foot way. Building by-law in 1822 improsed the inclusion of 5 foot way verandah in buidlings.
5 foot ways are public spaces. Today motorcycles are parked preventing it from being used. The law requires them to keep a 5 foot way for public use.
